Wire Craft

Using soft, pliable craft wire and a variety of tools, you’ll learn basic techniques such as bending, coiling, wrapping, and joining. We’ll explore how to build shapes, add texture, and combine wire with other materials like beads, fabric, wood, or found objects. Projects might include mini sculptures, mobiles, jewellery, hanging ornaments, or abstract forms, each one unique to the maker. This workshop is perfect for those who enjoy working in 3D, experimenting with line and space, or simply trying something fresh and tactile. Wire is a wonderfully flexible material that responds directly to your hands. There’s instant feedback, and every mark or bend becomes part of the final piece. It’s a creative process that encourages spontaneity, problem-solving, and plenty of play.

No experience is necessary, and all tools and materials are provided. You’ll be supported with gentle guidance, inspiring examples, and room to follow your own ideas. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned maker looking to loosen up and try something different, you’ll find joy in the simplicity and freedom of working with wire. This workshop is suitable for adults and older children, and makes a great solo or shared experience. Come along with curiosity, leave with a handmade piece and a new appreciation for the beauty of line in three dimensions.
