The first Flourish workshops feel like a while ago now, and I still think about them. Starting something new is a nerve-wracking business, and the thing I hadn’t quite prepared for was how quickly a room of strangers turns into a room of people talking. Thank you to everyone who came along and took a chance on a brand new little business. It made all the difference.
Delightful Decoupage
The one that started it all. A group gathered to learn the delicate craft of decoupage, turning simple eggs into charming Easter table decorations, and the morning unfolded more easily than I’d dared hope. Creativity, conversation and hot cross buns for morning tea. What stayed with me most was the feedback people offered on the day, generous and thoughtful, and it has shaped nearly every workshop I’ve run since.
Mother’s Day Jewellery Workshop
Our launch workshop, and a lovely introduction to beaded jewellery making. Guests learnt the fundamentals of design while making a pair of earrings and either a charm bracelet or necklace, alongside a delicious high tea. Everyone went home with two handcrafted pieces. Some of them, I’ve since learnt, went on to make more.
