Mosaic

Using a range of tiles, ceramics, glass, stones, and found objects, you’ll learn how to design, place, and fix your own mosaic piece. We’ll guide you through the process step by step, from planning your layout to cutting tiles, adhering them to a surface, and applying grout for a finished effect. You might create a trivet, coaster, small wall piece, mirror frame, or abstract design on board. The outcome is completely up to you and your style. Choose a colour palette, play with shapes, or bring your own broken crockery or special pieces to incorporate into your design. Mosaics are as much about patience as they are about creativity. The process is grounding, satisfying, and accessible to everyone, regardless of experience. It’s a chance to slow your pace, work with your hands, and see something beautiful emerge one piece at a time.

All tools and materials are provided, including gloves, cutters, adhesives, grout, and a wide selection of tesserae. You’ll be supported throughout and encouraged to follow your own creative lead. This workshop is perfect for adults and older children and can be enjoyed solo or with friends. Whether you’re making something useful, decorative, or purely expressive, you’ll leave with a finished mosaic and a deeper appreciation for the creative power of small things coming together.
