Air Dried Clay

Using air-dried clay, we’ll guide you through basic sculpting and construction techniques—pinching, coiling, slab-building, joining, smoothing, and texturing. You’ll learn how to shape small vessels, figures, wall hangings, or abstract forms, all designed to dry naturally at home without firing. This workshop is more about feel than finish. The clay invites you to work slowly, stay present, and follow the shapes as they emerge beneath your hands. We’ll explore texture tools, natural imprints, and surface decoration using found objects, stamps, and carving tools. You can keep things simple or layer on detail—there’s no rush and no right or wrong.

All tools and materials are provided, and you’ll leave with one or more unique pieces that will dry and cure over the following days. We’ll also share tips for painting or sealing your piece at home if you wish. Perfect for adults and older children, this workshop suits anyone looking to reconnect with their creativity, enjoy some quiet time, or simply try something different. Come on your own or with a friend—no experience needed, just a willingness to experiment. Take a deep breath, press your thumbs into cool clay, and see what takes shape. It’s about making with intention, getting messy on purpose, and enjoying the beauty of something handmade.
